SDGE - Quality Management SystemBayen Group was hired to develop a Contract Document Management System to automate a public utility company’s high volume construction and engineer sub-contractor contract workflow.

Client Summary
  • A public utilities company that provides natural gas and electricity to 3.3 million consumers in Southern California 
  • Company’s service area spans 4,100 square miles and employs about 5,000 people
Business Need
  • A centralized web based platform to manage, track and correspond with design and engineering sub-contractors
  • Ability to report against the performance of the users and sub-contractors
  • Provide file sharing of large CAD files
  • Integrate with other key systems such as SAP and Procore for procurement and construction process alignment
Solution
  • An envisioning assessment was the first step to better understand the client’s business processes to ensure the end product accomplishedtheir desired goals. This ultimately served as the foundation for successfully planning the best technological course of action
  • Develop a real time, up-to-date website that tracks sub-contractor submissions, reports on timelines, milestones  and financials
  • Harness Microsoft 365 Power Platform:  SharePoint Online, Power Automate, Power BI Dashboards with SAP & Procore integration
