Bayen Group partnered with a Southern California county Health Care Agency to provide a SharePoint migration process tailored to their individual business needs. We conducted assessment and planning, migration, and support.

• Provides services including food protection, hazardous waste regulation, water quality monitoring and pollution prevention, mental health services, alcohol and drug abuse services, preventive health services for the aging, healthcare for incarcerated individuals, communicable disease control, child health and disability program, immunizations, public health field nursing and public health clinics

Migration from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2019 for multiple sites, solutions, and tools

Planning

• BG Technical Lead worked closely with the technical Team to audit and document the current SharePoint 2013 environment
  • Designed the SharePoint 2019 farm and migration plan
  • Worked closely with the technical Team to review and approve the SharePoint 2019 farm design and migration plan
  • BG Project Manager created a project schedule for the rest of the migration project

Setup

• BG Technical Team setup/configured the following servers based on the approved SharePoint 2019 farm design:
  • SharePoint 2019 Front-End (WFE
  • SharePoint 2019 App Server
  • SharePoint 2019 Distributed Cache Server
  • SQL Server
• Tested the new SharePoint 2019 farm
• Mitigated any issues that comes up during testing
• Setup/configured the ShareGate migration tool
• Provided appropriate knowledge transfer to the technical team for the new SharePoint 2019 farm

Migration

• Created the appropriate sites per the approved migration plan
• Converted the following SharePoint Apps to SharePoint 2019:
  • Employee Directory
  • Orange Connect
• Utilized ShareGate to migrate content from the SharePoint 2013 farm to SharePoint 2019 farm

Validation

• BG Technical tested all sites and apps that were migrated to SharePoint 2019
• Worked closely with the team during user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Collaborated with the client to collect any bugs identified during UAT
• Mitigated any bugs identified during UAT
• Worked with team to prepare for go live/cutover
• Performed final data delta synchronization

Post Migration

• Upon Go Live, BG Team conducted knowledge transfer sessions to bring client up to speed on migration and new tools/platforms
