Business Need
Migration from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint 2019 for multiple sites, solutions, and tools.
Solution
Planning
BG Technical Lead collaborated closely with the technical team to audit and document the current SharePoint 2013 environment. They designed the SharePoint 2019 farm and migration plan and worked together to review and approve the new farm design and migration strategy. The BG Project Manager then created a project schedule to guide the rest of the migration process.
Setup
The BG Technical Team set up and configured the servers based on the approved SharePoint 2019 farm design, including the SharePoint 2019 Front-End (WFE), App Server, Distributed Cache Server, and SQL Server. They tested the new SharePoint 2019 farm, addressing any issues that arose during testing. Additionally, they configured the ShareGate migration tool and provided the technical team with the necessary knowledge transfer for the new SharePoint 2019 farm.
Migration
The BG Technical Team created the necessary sites according to the approved migration plan and converted various SharePoint Apps to SharePoint 2019, including the Employee Directory and Orange Connect. They utilized the ShareGate tool to successfully migrate content from the SharePoint 2013 farm to the SharePoint 2019 farm.
Validation
The BG Technical Team rigorously tested all sites and applications migrated to SharePoint 2019, working closely with the team during user acceptance testing (UAT). They collaborated with the client to identify and mitigate any bugs found during UAT. Additionally, they prepared for the go-live phase by performing final data delta synchronization, ensuring a smooth transition.
Post Migration
Upon Go Live, BG Team conducted knowledge transfer sessions to bring client up to speed on migration and new tools/platforms.
