Migration from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online

• Implement a hybrid environment to securely share data between on-premises and Cloud applications
• Upgrade on-premises Custom Apps to the Cloud and SharePoint 2019 leveraging SharePoint framework
• Secure gateway between on-premises apps and Cloud to provide seamless and intuitive access to all resources
• Multi-factor authentication to securely access resources
• Client IT team to workshare with Bayen Group Development team

Bayen Group worked closely with the law firm to break the process into two parts: Envisioning and Planning/Execution

• Envisioning
  • Determining what was within the scope of our migration process
  • Creating an itemized list of sites, apps, and data to be migrated
  • Deciding what content would remain on-premises and what would be migrated to the Cloud
  • While the original request was for a complete cloud migration, after assessment and auditing of current tools and needs, our team decided a hybrid environment would be most functional, secure and cost-effective for the client
• Planning/Execution
  • Designed and constructed an application interface to bring data to the Cloud from on-premises applications
  • Migrated entire company intranet to a Cloud platform
  • Enhanced custom applications for each specific purpose as determined by the client
  • Developed a gateway for Cloud to recognize and trust information from secure locations
    • Upon user login, gateway pulls information from on-premises to the cloud
  • Implemented single sign-on interface to reduce complexity and streamline processes

Over the course of 4 months, we migrated SharePoint 2013 company intranet and Custom Apps to either SharePoint Online or SharePoint 2019
